Don Jazzy’s kindness and Wande Coal’s humility.

https://twitter.com/mfonabel
The fracas between Don Jazzy and Wande Coal is currently enjoying top trend on twitter, while so many fans are taking this so called quarrel too serious, I believe that these two respected folks will probably settle their differences soon over a bottle of beer.

Some fellow on twitter are already dedicating some tweets to infuriate the hate between these two. It keeps one wondering if it is a crime to have misunderstanding once in a while. As long as there is human blood and hormones, there is bound to be misunderstanding.  After misunderstanding comes settlement. There are two qualities that these two men possess that should bring them together again as best of friends. apart from talent, these was the same quality that brought them together, kindness and humility.

Five Reasons Why Mandela Must Not Die…

After many weeks of tension over the health of African living legend, Nelson Mandela, attention over his health has dropped after his return from hospital. #MfonList takes a look at top five reasons why the great icon, Nelson Mandela must not die; perhaps these factors have slight role in his lengthy life span so far.

1.       He is loved In Africa and beyond: Nelson Mandela has achieved something many African leaders and even global leaders have failed to achieve, that is, winning the love of majority of his people. It is very difficult in Africa, for up to 50% of the population of a country to sing the praise of it’s leader in office or out of office. Usually, the people who sing the praise of leaders are those directly benefiting from such leader, or those with tribal link with such Leader. This is something the great Icon has surpassed. He has not just won the love of majority of South Africans; he has crossed the boundary, into all Africa and even beyond to the international community! This is rare!  And many years after he left office, the love never ran out, it seems it goes stronger day after day! Many will go out of their way to pray for the well being of this great man.

D’banj: I’d love to marry Genevieve!

Singer, Dapo Oyebanji, aka D’banj, finally opened up on his love life in a rare meeting with journalists in Lagos on Wednesday.

The self-styled Kokomaster was clearly in his elements as he talked at length, amid occasional bouts of laughter, about his career and other issues that were important to him. One of the subjects was about his rumoured relationship with Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji.

Judging by the manner in which the actress’ name kept popping off his lips, it was obvious that D’banj had a very soft spot for her.
Aware that the grapevine had bristled with the rumour that he was romantically involved with Genevieve, ever since she appeared in the 2010 video of his hit song, ‘Fall in Love’, the singer said the actress had played a role in his success.

“Apart from the fact that she is my friend, she has been a part of my success. There is no way you are going to tell my story that Genevieve’s name will not come up because she featured in my biggest song of all time, Fall in Love. So if E True Story comes to Nigeria to interview me, she will definitely be called upon to tell my story,” he said.

As if to confirm that there was more to his relationship with the actress than he had always admitted, D’banj added, “I would love to have Genevieve as my wife.  We never can tell what God plans for us in the future. I have studied her and I realised that anyone that has her as his woman has found himself a treasure. Just like the Bible says, any man who finds a wife, finds a good thing.”

I’m not as rich as Don Jazzy – Atiku

Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, caused confusion on the Nigerian social media space on Saturday, when he declared on Twitter that he is not as rich as award-winning music producer, singer and songwriter, Don Jazzy.
A Twitter user, Dahiru Mustapha, tweeting via   @ZizouQA, had asked  Atiku why he had not been giving out recharge cards on the social network as Don Jazzy used to do.
The ace music producer enjoys creating a buzz on the micro-blogging service with the way and manner he shares money and recharge cards to his followers, a move many describe as a publicity stunt.
“Why can’t @atiku share recharge cards like @donjazzy?,’’ Mustapha asked in a tweet. But while responding swiftly to the inquiry, Atiku declared that he is not as rich as many Nigerians may have been made to believe.
He replied, “But I’m not as rich as Don Jazzy #smile.’’ Atiku’s reply immediately went viral on social media as tens of people retweeted it. The comment stirred up a debate among social media users.

WHEN Elon Musk says he has an idea, it’s worth listening. And on Monday, Musk will unveil his thoughts on and plan for super fast travel, 30 minutes from Los Angeles to San Francisco, maybe 45 at some point from LA to New York.

He calls it the hyperloop and says his “alpha design” for a transport system that will move at twice the speed of airplanes is doable.

Musk wants to talk to President Obama and the governor of California about his ideas.

Oprah Insist That Racism Still Exist. ' Racist Clerk at Swanky Shop Refused Me'

It's safe to say no handbag in the world is too expensive for Oprah, but an attendant at an upscale shop in Zurich seemed to think otherwise. While visiting the city last month, the talk-show queen says a clerk refused to show her a $35,000 bag, claiming she couldn't afford it, an incident that proves racism "still exists," says Oprah. "Of course it does." She tells ET, "I could've had the whole blow-up thing and thrown down the black card, but why do that?" Instead, she left without a fuss.
Now, the shop owner tells the BBC it was all a "misunderstanding." "My salesperson wanted to give her the handbag in her hand. But she didn't want to take the bag," Trudie Gotz says, adding the attendant "takes care of the most spoiled customers from all over the world. She is really a correct sales person." But Oprah says the clerk tried to show her smaller bags though she insisted several times she wanted to see the big one. USA Today reports that the Swiss tourism board has sided with Oprah, tweeting, "this person acted terribly wrong."

Pastor Prosecuted for Reading Bible in Public Goes to Trial

The case of two men arrested while reading the Bible—out loud and in public—went to trial on Monday, over a year after the events transpired.
The men were arrested when they went to their local DMV in Hemet, Calif., and read from the Bible aloud as people stood in line for the DMV to open. When the first California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer arrived on the scene, he grabbed the Bible away from the man reading it and said he could not "preach to a captive audience."
There is no penal code that says such a thing, so the officer later cited them for violating California Penal Code Section 602.1(b), which provides:
"Any person who intentionally interferes with any lawful business carried on by the employees of a public agency open to the public, by obstructing or intimidating those attempting to carry on business, or those persons there to transact business with the public agency ... is guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by imprisonment in a county jail for up to 90 days, or by a fine of up to four hundred dollars ($400), or by both that imprisonment and fine."

Why Nigerians in Diaspora Won’t Return Home

On one of my social media networks I spotted a comment that said “By the time Africans get featured in an article like this the gold rush will be over.” Of course you can easily interpret this statement in several ways but it spoke volumes about how Africans tend to always be last in everything.

As a Nigerian in the Diaspora I would love to go back after I finish my education to pursue my own dreams but realistically we are faced with obstacles that cause many diasporans to become reluctant to return back to Africa to start up a business. Here are my reasons why…

Africa’s most powerful women in tech 2013

Hmmm, Take a look at this new list, do you agree with it?

As South Africa pays tribute to women on Friday 09 August, National Women’s Day, ITNewsAfrica is afforded the opportunity to reflect on the role that female technology professionals play in growing the continent’s ICT sector.
Besides a general tribute to women in South Africa, the public holiday is always associated with the contribution made by women in the development of the country’s multi-racial, democratic society – and advancement in all fields, including science and technology.
Events like the 1956 mass demonstration by the Federation of South African women against the imposition of the pass laws form part of the historical significance of the Day.
More recently, the world was reminded of the global relevance of women in society when, on Friday 12 July 2013, the name Malala Yousafzai was etched into the annals of United Nations (UN) history.
The Pakistani teenager, who made worldwide headlines after surviving a gun-shot wound to the head, inflicted by the Taliban, addressed the global body at its headquarters in New York and spoke of the general rights of women and that of young girls to education.

COMPUTERS CAN WRITE JOKES NOW, TOO

Taking another step in their ongoing quest to steal all the jobs in the world, a pair of computer scientists at the University of Edinburgh have created a computer program that can generate original jokes in the timeless, sexist, "I like my women like I like my coffee..." format.
